Rob Moody from the Arkansas Canoe Club will be conducting a swiftwater rescue class designed specifically for paddlers. This class will be approximately 4 hours.

How YOU can participate:

Let us know you're coming! Sign up at www.irwp.org

First 10 canoes FREE thanks to IRWP, Arkansas Canoe Club and Love to Float Outfitters. Must reserve with IRWP; first come, first serve- OR bring your kayak or canoe or rent one from Love to Float Outfitters.

Meet at the Siloam Springs Kayak Park to float and clean-up along the Illinois River, approximately a 7.5 mile stretch. Put in will be Chamber Springs access.

Shuttle available to Chamber Springs access for put in. Shuttles FREE from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.

Clean-up supplies provided by Keep Arkansas Beautiful.

FREE T-SHIRTS!!

Please be sure to have your own life jacket/personal flotation device. All rentals include PFDs. Alcohol NOT permitted during the event. IRWP and event partners not responsible for injury or loss during this event.

6th Annual Illinois River Splash

Come join us for the Illinois River Splash presented by the Illinois River Watershed Partnership and co-hosted by the City of Siloam Springs. We'll be focusing on river stewardship this year with continued emphasis on safety.

This FREE event will have great music, FREE FOOD for the first 100 people, local river related vendors, paddling demos, water safety demos and even beginners paddling lessons. If you've never been to the Siloam Springs Kayak Park, this is a great time to be introduced.

Park CLOSED for Construction

The Siloam Springs Kayak Park will be closed for construction Monday, September 21 through Friday, October 17 for park maintenance and repair. There will be periods of time when the river will be re-routed and dammed.

Come watch as advanced kayakers and paddlers from around the region show off their skills. They get to show off tricks and skills and earn points during the competitions.

Learn to Paddle Clinic

The Northwest Chapter of the Arkansas Canoe Club is hosting a Learn to Paddle workshop this Saturday from 10:00-2:00 at the SSKP.

If you've ever been interested in learning how to paddle, but didn't know where to start, this is a perfect event for you! You'll get matched up with a certified instructor for direct instruction. They'll help you choose the right boat and even dress out properly.

This is a FREE event.

Illinois River Splash | A water safety day at the Siloam Springs Kayak Park

IRWP and City of Siloam Springs will host the Illinois River Splash, a family-friendly event at the new Siloam Springs Kayak Park.

Enjoy an afternoon of live music, hot-dogs, safe summer fun and appreciation of our Illinois River. 

River safety demonstrations will be held to ensure that visitors at the Illinois River Kayak Park are well-equipped with the proper gear and knowledge of the park additions. 

Vendors will have booths with water/river information, demos and products for purchase. For more information on participating as a vendor, please send email to contact@irwp.org.

Please, no open fires, but bring your lawn chairs and picnic at this wonderful addition to our community and watershed!
